Special events are events that happens from time to time. They can occur in a whole cluster or just one sector. They only last for a short period of time.

There are several types of special events:

 

 

Epidemic  Edit

Happens on: Top 25 planets.      
Lasts: 6-9 days.
Exceptions: Planets with Baby Boom active.
Effects:
  •  Additional loss of population if planet is not upkeeped with enough medicines. There will still be loss but much less even if planet is upkeeped with medicines.
  • Shortage of black market medicines in cluster.


 Baby Boom Edit

Happens on: Top 25-40 planets.      
Lasts: 6-9 days.
Exceptions: Planets with Epedmic or Asteroid events active.
Effects:
  •  Additional increase of population if planet is upkeeped with enough medicines. There will still be increase in population but much less even if planet is not upkeeped with medicines.
  • Shortage of black market medicines cluster.


Space Flux Edit

Happens on: Any cluster.
Lasts: 6-9 days.
Exceptions: Clusters where no Magnetic storm, Pulsar flares, or Time flux are active.
Effects:
  • +3 aps for movement on all tiles.

Magnetic Storm Edit

Happens on: Any cluster.
Lasts: 6-9 days.
Exceptions: Clusters where no Space flux, Pulsar flares, or Time flux are active.
Effects:
  • All player ships appear cloaked.


Pulsar Flares Edit

Happens on: Any cluster.      
Lasts: 2-7 days.
Exceptions: Clusters where no Space flux, Magnetic storm, or Time flux are active.
Effects:
  • -25% armour points for all ships including docked ships.


Time Flux Edit

Happens on: Any cluster.      
Lasts: 1-8 days.
Exceptions: Clusters where no Space Flux, Magnetic storm, or Pulsar flares are active.
Effects:
  • +120 aps every hour.


Asteroid Impact  Edit

Happens on: Top 30 of Class M, I, and A planets.      
Lasts: 6-9 days.
Exceptions: planets where baby boom is active, planets with low population, only one asteroid event possible at a time.
Effects:
  • Planet needs to naturally consume 40000 tons of energy, 350 tons of electronics, 250 tons of radioactive cells, 500 tons of optical components within the given timeframe, for building a tractor array to divert the asteroid.
  • If this fails, an asteroid impact happens, resulting in a substantial population loss.
  • Black market shortages of the needed commodities in cluster.


Meteor Shower Edit

Happens on: Any sector.
Lasts: 4-10 days.
Exceptions: (None).
Effects: Hourly destruction of player-building conditions (on average about 0.3 points per hour).


Sector Boom Edit

Happens on: Any sector.
Lasts: 3-5 days.
Exceptions: (None).
Effects:
  • Faster regeneration in sector's field resources.


Wormhole Monsters Edit

Happens on: Any clusters except faction's
Lasts: 2-4 days
Exceptions: (None)
Effects: Spawns fairly strong wormhole monsters that look exactly the same as the wormholes.


Diplomatic DeclineEdit

Happens on: Any 2 Factions
Lasts: 3-4 days
Exceptions: factions with no faction commands and are not at war with each other and have not been for at least 4 weeks
Effects:
  • Additional decline in relations by -10 with the two factions involved


Diplomatic Improvement Edit

Happens on: Any 2 Factions.    
Lasts: 3-4 days.
Exceptions: factions without faction commands and are not at war with each other, and have no good relationship with the other factions.
Effects:
  • Additional friendly relations by +10 with the two factions involved.
